At the state level, there are resources available at the Georgia Department of Veterans Service (GDVS), which was created to help Georgia veterans and their families receive their rightful benefits and learn more about available resources. You can visit the Veterans Field Service Office nearest you to receive personalized assistance.

Additionally, there are many other Georgia state agencies that assist veterans. The U.S. Department of Defense provides MilitaryOneSource to help you achieve your goals in life.

What resources are available for Veterans in the Atlanta area?

If you are looking to access healthcare, the Atlanta VA Health Care System is located in Decatur, Georgia. Individuals who served in the active military, naval, or air service may qualify for VA healthcare benefits as well as current and former members of the Reserves or National Guard who were called to active duty. There are also many private organizations that can help you find the support you need. Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) provides support for veterans. The American Legion is another well-respected option.
